In February we were introduced to the new HTC One X, the latest flagship handset from HTC. There were also two other models announced along with the phone which were the more mid range devices the One S and the One V. At the time there was news of the HTC Golf, a new entry level device but this handset never materialised. It now looks as though the Golf has been renamed the HTC One C and will join the other devices in the range over the coming weeks.
Despite sitting at the opposite end of the range from the HTC One X it is pleasing to see that HTC have not compromised quality on the new One C handset. The model features a durable metal frame which should immediately make the device stand out from the competition. The model includes the smallest screen of the current HTC range at 3.5 inches. This screen can display an HVGA resolution of 480 x 320 pixels. Multi media features are very impressive on this model. A 5 mega pixel camera enables users to capture high quality photographs while the model also features Beats Audio technology to help it deliver superb music playback. The model will be launched in two colours, a black version and also a white variant. 4GB of internal storage is offered on the phone but thanks to a deal between HTC and Dropbox an additional 25GB of cloud storage is given to all users.
The HTC One C completes what is a very impressive range of handsets from the manufacturer. The HTC One X sits at the top of this line up thanks to its quad core processor and large 4.7 inch display. This model will attract consumers who are looking for the very latest smartphone technology but for those prepared to accept a slightly lower specification phone then the One S is a super handset. This phone incorporates a dual core processor together with a 4.3 inch screen capable of displaying an impressive 256 pixels per inch. In terms of camera features the model can capture still images at 8 mega pixels and video footage at 1080P. The HTC One V sits just above the new One C in the range. This model features a 3.7 inch screen with a pixel density of 252PPI. A single core 1Ghz processor ensures that operation speeds are good while a 5 mega pixel camera delivers excellent still photographs.
The HTC One C is an impressive new entry level smartphone that will appeal to consumers looking for a compact device that does not attract very expensive monthly contract prices. It boasts the same impressive build quality of other models in the range like the HTC One X while the 25GB of cloud storage space will come in useful if the 4GB of internal capacity fills up very quickly.
